PERSPECTIVE [01]

wanted the first article I share to be given by one of closest friends in the community somebody who has been there long enough, who's been in the scene on a constant note.

Here's Venkatesh's PERSPECTIVE on the present sneaker scene.

The sneaker scene currently is very saturated globally, be it brands milking the same silouhette every other day or artists trying to cash in on their name with collaborations, the scene has gone from exciting to monotonous.

Back in the day getting a specific pair included waiting for weeks to know the release date waiting for the drop , trying and if you took a L then finding a guy who’s willing to sell you one  for a comfortable price or taking the harder route trying to import one, but now it’s all very fast every other week there’s a new drop and one more L, once you have taken the L you just hop on one of those groups and pages and voila 10 resellers got FSR which is convenient but at the same time not that exciting.

Other factors like Influx of very good fakes, emergence of fake resellers and wannabe Hypebeast influencers who scream the word "CULTURE" in your ears has made it even worse.

Looking at the silver lining, once these clouds of people who just hopped on the bandwagon to make money or just look cool pass the scene and people who love it will still be there.

I think time will show us where we stand and and in the meantime all I can say is we try to at least educate the newer gen about what this entire community is about where we get what we love rather get this for clout.
